[ That's quite the understatement. Something needed to be done a while ago.
But, recognizing that doesn't speed the process along; nor does whispering about it at a fancy gala. So, Sorey sort of sums it up in his next bit of commentary. ]
I agree. Wyver's quick change of heart after spending so long in conflict is way too suspicious. And we aren't the only ones who think that way, either.
[ There are like-minded friends in their midst, hiding in plain sight. ]
If you're headed back to Olympia any time soon, maybe we can get together and talk about it, if you want.
[There's a twinge of something like discomfort in Terra's expression and then he's looking away, first at the crowd around them then back up to the plant Sorey was fascinated with.]
Yeah... I'll contact you on the little machine thing sometime and we can figure out somewhere to meet.
[Anyway, how 'bout that plant!]
So, still want a closer look at that twig up there?
[Yeah, the phone is still kind of a strange and mystifying object to Terra. Super useful, though. Shame they didn't have them back home.
With another nod, Terra turns to the plant. Okay, here's hoping it's not poisonous or cursed or something... He reaches way, way up and... nope, not even he's tall enough. Shoot. Maybe if he jumps a little... There! Twig secured!
And very quickly offered to Sorey. Here, take your possibly-poisonous-or-cursed-or-something plant.]
[ For a moment, Sorey thinks that all hope of securing this magical, mystical, maybe-cursed-and-possibly-poisonous plant might be lost. Alas!
...But then the taller of them jumps, and manages to take down the elusive twig! You're his hero, Terra. It's something like hot potato'd into the former-Shepherd's hands, but he doesn't seem unduly alarmed; rather, curious instead. (Even if perhaps he shouldn't be. It's a little late for that now, of course.) ]
Thanks! [ While admiring it, he answers confidently: ]
I used to work at the Simwe Institute as a plant researcher. While that's in the past now, I still have some friends who could help me figure out what this plant is, what it does, and how it affects the ecosystem here.
[Terra smiles the small, polite, faintly puzzled smile of a man who is no hero!! doesn't know what to think of this information that some people make jobs out of studying plants. Just how much can there be to learn about a plant? All he can think of is whether it's poisonous or not and whether it has any magical properties or not... and if it's edible and maybe if you can use it in some kind of potion... Okay, so maybe plant researcher is a legitimate job.
A very nerdy but legitimate job.
He's drawn out of his thoughts when he notices a local glancing their way. Pardon him, Sorey, as he steps around you a bit to block the local's view of the twig. Grand Theft Plant.
[ Hey, he doesn’t know what happened between you and Xehanort, Terra, so you can still be a hero to him!! Innocent until proven guilty, right?
Then again, it isn’t a terribly heroic thing to steal a plant, now is it? But Sorey supposes it’s not much different than him taking an artifact out of a ruin back home. So long as it’s in the name of science and discovery, it’s not really a crime, now is it?
...But the locals might be a bit averse to that argument nevertheless, so he’ll take Terra’s cue and tuck the twig into an inner breast-pocket on his tailcoat when the taller steps conveniently in the sight-line of a local. There. Now someone would have to frisk him to uncover this heist of theirs. ]
I haven’t, no. [ But now he’s intrigued. Do go on, Terra. ] Why do you ask?
It's totally a crime. They're officially criminals now. Terra's a plant thief or plant thief accomplice. He has fallen so far from the light. Dishonor. Dishonor on him, dishonor on his... need to buy him a pet or something for him to dishonor.]
Well, honestly, I don't know much about her, but I think she likes plants a lot, too. A while ago, she gave away a bunch of flowers to help brighten up people's homes. I got a pot of orange tulips.
[Dishonor on his pot of orange tulips.]
Might be worth saying 'hello' to her sometime. She could have more unusual plants for you to study.
[Or maybe she'd take offense to plant poking and prodding, we just don't know.]
[ Shh, no, it's for science! That makes it okay, right? Right?? (At least, isn't that the kind of excuse that'll hold up in court?) ]
Tulips? As in-- [ wait. Stop the presses. Sorey is from Glenwood, Terra is from... okay he doesn't recall at the moment but probably somewhere else, so ] ...well, I wonder if they're the same type of flower I'm thinking of. If so, then that's a little surprising.
[ And also a relief, in some way? ]
Anyway, it's definitely worth a shot! [ Just one hang-up. Sorey's green eyes dart from side-to-side briefly before heading back to Terra. ] Is she in Olympia, or Wyver?

Oh, right! [ He cups his chin thoughtfully, and sneaks another peek at that pesky, stubborn sprig. ]
If we can get it down...
